Conveyor and robotic palletizing line – Greiner Packaging
For the European manufacturer of plastic packaging – greiner packaging in Louka u Litvínova – we have commissioned a new conveyor and robotic palletizing line that ensures the automated flow of cardboard packaging from production to the dispatch of finished pallets.
A solution tailored to production and space
We designed the technology with regard to the layout possibilities of the production hall and the requirements for stable performance and safe operation. The line connects the production section with inspection and robotic palletizing, enabling a smooth and repeatable flow of material without the need for manual intervention. Part of the conveyors runs on a walkway above the production technology, which has allowed us to make maximum use of the available space.
Automatic inspection and robotic palletizing
The line includes automatic inspection of the transported boxes and their subsequent robotic palletizing according to packaging regulations. Once the pallet is complete, it moves on to the packaging and shipping section, where it is labeled with a shipping label and prepared for collection by a forklift. The delivery also includes a separate robotic station for the automatic dismantling of so-called “locked” pallets, which were previously handled manually.
Technical parameters of the line
- conveyor systems for transporting empty and full cardboard boxes
- roller conveyors, modular curves, lifting and turning devices
- automatic control: metal detector, code reader, labeling device
- transport speed up to 0.4 m/s
- Line cycle time 11.4 s/piece
- Box storage consisting of parallel conveyor lines
- Robotic palletizing for EUR, plastic, and disposable pallets
- Separate robotic station for automatic dismantling of “locked” pallets
- Safety fencing, safety PLC, and signaling elements
Operational safety
We designed the line in accordance with applicable legislation, with an emphasis on safe and transparent operation. All moving parts are equipped with protective covers, and key sections – lifting equipment, pallet turners, and robotic palletizing – are secured with safety fencing with secured access. The solution includes safety sensors, emergency switches, safety PLCs, and light signaling, which ensure control of the equipment status and safe operation of the entire line.
Benefits of automation
Automation has brought a stable and smooth flow of material in precisely defined cycles. We have reduced manual handling, lowered error rates, and increased overall production efficiency. Operators can focus on more skilled activities, while the plant better meets customer requirements, reduces losses, and optimizes energy consumption. The solution also supports long-term production sustainability.
