Robotic and Laser Workstations

Roboti nám pomáhají s řešením složité, rychlé a přesné manipulace s jednotlivými výrobky. Použití robotů v našich linkách je řešeno včetně plného zajištění jejich synchronizace s navazujícími dopravníky a bezpečnosti na pracovišti. V době provozu robotů je osobám zamezen vstup do příslušných prostorů.

Automatic assembly line for car parts in 40 sec.

The essence of the project is the automatic assembly on sophisticated jigs developed by TMT for the production of car parts with an accuracy of up to +/- 0.05 mm.

Automatic assembly is carried out by four ABB robots and four manipulators. They use Weber automatic screwdrivers to assemble and manipulate the parts. Precision is ensured by camera guidance.

The assembled auto parts are removed from the assembly jig by the ABB robot and inserted into the Zeiss inspection station where they are measured. The part is then loaded onto an AGV trolley, labelled and dispatched for further processes.

How is the line management done?

Line control is carried out using the Siemens S7 1500 Safety PLC control system and the TIA Portal v 15 SP1 unified development environment for automation. PROFIsafe facilitates the implementation of safe devices and machines based on the PROFINET communication line. The IT data component is managed by Siemens WinCC software running on a Siemens server communicating with production SQL databases. Production and recipe information is stored in SQL databases. The two layers of OP and IT work closely together and switch between each other in management.

The line is composed of functional technological and verification modules. The individual modules represent functions with parameters. The control of the line is in line with the current trend of Industry 4.0 digitalization.

The entire system is connected to remote administration and allows servicing or diagnostics from TMT.

Robotic Product Rotation

Robotic rotation is carried out using two assembly lines with robots. For this purpose, a Stäubli industrial robot is used, which can rotate the product on the assembly line by 180°.

The entire workstation includes a pneumatically operated pallet fixing, a robot stand, the robot itself, a pneumatically driven gripper for gripping the product and a camera system for guiding the robot. The workplace is equipped with a safety fence with electronically blocked access.

You can see the robotic rotation in the video.

Robotic Packaging and Palletising Line

The conveyor line consists of four stacking robots and two Stäubli palletizing robots that connect roller, chain and modular belt conveyors.

The line ensures the insertion of the cups into the trays and their subsequent palletisation and packaging. See the operation of the line on the video.

Laser Workstations

Laser Station – Marking and Degreasing Cell

The laser cell contains two separate workstations – marking and degreasing.

  • description part – used to describe car locks with symbols and codes according to customer’s wishes
  • degreasing part – is designed to degrease and roughen the metal and plastic surface of car locks, on which the sealant is then applied

Individual Components of the Device

The entire plant is enclosed in an aluminium profile structure with external sheet metal cladding and a door for service and maintenance. Each scanner head is mounted on its own automatic slide for adjusting the focal distance from the surface to be marked and degreased. Other components of the equipment include:

  • the main switchboard
  • control panel of the control system
  • control panel with monitor and keyboard
  • air ducting for extraction inside the cell (the extraction device is not part of the cell)

The device is also integrated into the user’s line and operates in automatic operation. The control system is connected to the user’s conveyor system and receives information from it about the position and type of auto lock. Its transport and positioning is provided by the conveyor, stoppers and centering knives.

Laser Cutting of Sheet Metal Mouldings

A technology cell is used to perform laser cuts on 3ED objects. The cutting capability is limited by two factors:

  • the suitability of the moulding material for cutting with the type of laser installed
  • by his performance

In this particular case, the parts in question were sheet steel extrusions – body parts. During the moulding process / mould development or the production of a set of prototype pieces, considerable costs were saved on the development of the cutting tool. Operational safety is ensured by the use of safety electronic locks of the appropriate classification.

For optical control of the process, laser-absorbing safety glasses are installed in the cell wall. The cutting head is carried by a six-axis robot that ensures its desired position and allows very fast job/workpiece changes, both in terms of corrections of the cutting path to ensure the desired shape of the workpiece and in terms of changing the type of production.
